NYPD Police Officer Martin Tom passed away in the line of duty on June 9, 2011, from a post-9/11-related cancer.
Tom, 49, served with the New York City Police Department for 21 years. During his career, he was assigned to 7th Precinct, Patrol Borough Manhattan South Task Force, the Taxi Unit and the Licensing Division.
Tom is survived by his wife, Kitty, and his daughter.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has paid off the Tom family’s mortgage as part of its 2021 Season of Hope initiative.
