Brackenridge Police Department, Pennsylvania • Line of Duty Death: January 1, 2023
On January 2, 2023, Police Chief Justin McIntire, of the Brackenridge Borough Police Department, sustained fatal gunshot wounds during a foot pursuit of a wanted subject.
McIntire was born and lived his entire life in the state of Pennsylvania. As a child, he enjoyed playing sports and spending time with his mother and siblings. McIntire joined the Brackenridge Borough Police Department in 2001, with aspirations of becoming Police Chief. McIntire loved being able to serve the community he grew up in, and he is remembered as incredibly selfless and compassionate. McIntire served with the Brackenridge Borough Police Department for a total of twenty two years, four of which were as Chief of Police. He was sworn into the role exactly four years to the day of his death.
Police Chief Justin McIntire is survived by his wife, Ashley, and four children: Brennin, Jordan, Alexis, and Justin Jr.
