Los Angeles Police Department, California • Line of Duty Death: March 27, 2023

Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Ramon Torres passed away on March 27, 2023 after a lengthy battle with colon cancer.

Torres was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Inglewood, California, the youngest of four siblings. Torres enjoyed intelligent conversations, grilling, jiu jitsu, video games, family outings, 1990’s rap, and classic rock. Torres met his wife, Natali, while working as a security guard at a hospital where she was a nurse.

In 2015, Torres decided to enroll in the Los Angeles Police Academy, graduating in 2016. Torres knew he wanted to make a change in his life to provide for his family and make a difference in the world. He loved having structure and being able to help others, and had ambitions of achieving higher rank. Torres spent two years working in the jails and completed his patrol training. After finishing patrol training, he began experiencing discomfort which were later attributed as symptoms of cancer, which continued to progress over time. Torres relocated to Katy, Texas with his wife and daughter for further treatment, but sadly passed in March of 2023.

Natali and her daughter, Adalyn, currently reside in Texas. Natali hopes to be able to advocate for and help others battling cancer. Receiving the donation of a mortgage-free home from Tunnel to Towers has given Natali and Adalyn the support they need. Finally, Natali would like others to know that her husband was a fearless man and never gave up on his family.

Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Ramon Torres is survived by his wife, Natali, and daughter, Adalyn.
