John Pittman Norris Jr.

Forest Bend Fire Department Chief John Pittman Norris Jr. passed away on November 25, 2023, due to a heart attack shortly following a mutual aid structure fire.

Norris joined the Houston Fire Department in April of 1990, and served as a paramedic and airport rescue firefighter. In addition, Norris and his wife Wendy, were Co-Founders of the Forest Bend Fire Department in 2005. There, he served as a wildland firefighter, safety officer, assistant chief and rose to the rank of Chief. On November 25, 2023, the Forest Bend Fire Department assisted the Friendswood Volunteer Fire Department in battling a fire at an abandoned house. Within an hour, the fire was extinguished. Norris’ line of duty death occurred shortly after his fire department duties where he suffered a heart attack when he had just returned home.

Wendy acts as the CEO/President/Co-Founder of Texas LODD Task Force. She is grateful for the donation of a mortgage-free home from Tunnel to Towers. She is relieved and thrilled that she will no longer have to worry about getting the funds back to cover her daughter’s college tuition.

Forest Bend Fire Department Chief John Pittman Norris Jr. is survived by his wife, Wendy, and his daughter, Catherine
