Nogales Police Department, Arizona • Line of Duty Death: May 21, 2021

Police Officer Jeremy Brinton of the Nogales Police Department in Arizona died on May 21, 2021 from injuries he sustained after being struck by a vehicle on the Interstate. He was assisting with a lane closure at a construction zone, standing outside his patrol car, when he was struck. He was airlifted to the hospital where he later died. Brinton’s organs were donated as he had requested, giving others a chance at life, in his final act of bravery. Officer Brinton was 40 years old and had served his department for 18 years.

Brinton was raised in Arizona by his parents, along with his sister, Amanda. He graduated from Wade Carpenter Middle School and Rio Rico High School. He had a heart of gold and wanted to help people and help his community. Brinton served with the Nogales PD for 18 years and was known as a big bear who believed in hard work. He was honorable, responsible and dedicated to his family and his community.

Police Officer Jeremy Brinton of the Nogales Police Department is survived by his loving wife, Denise, his children, Justin, James, Sofia, and Adele, his sister, Amanda, his parents, Daniel Brinton and Sharon Myers, and many other cherished family members and friends.
