Ebenezer Fire Protection District Firefighter Dustin Brandhorst passed away March 18, 2022 while responding to a structure fire.
Brandhorst had a lifelong dream of becoming a firefighter. With his passion to do good and help others, he set out to achieve his dream. After volunteering for three years with the Ebenezer Fire Protection District, Brandhorst was honored by the department for over 700 volunteer hours served. He loved the brotherhood that came with being a firefighter. In addition to volunteering, Brandhorst owned a construction business and Christmas light business. He brought his construction expertise to the station, helping with remodel projects. At the time of his premature passing, Brandhorst was in the process of becoming a certified firefighter and transitioning to the department full-time. His number, 27, was retired in his honor.
Ebenezer Fire Protection District Firefighter Dustin Brandhorst is survived by his wife, Erin, his children, Landon and Lillianna, his mother, his mother-in-law, his siblings, his siblings-in-law, and his dogs, Bella and Hope. He is preceded in death by his father and father-in-law.
