Duncanville Fire Department, Texas • Line of Duty Death: July 31, 2020

Firefighter Daniel Kendall of the Duncanville Fire Department in Texas lost his courageous battle with occupational colon cancer on July 31, 2020. He had served for 12 years and was promoted from the rank of Firefighter/Paramedic to Driver/Engineer before being diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. He was 43 years old.

Kendall was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas to Dennis and the late Irene Kendall. He graduated from Garland High School. It was there that he met his future wife, Jessica. They were married and went on to have their son, Asher. His family was the love of his life. Kendall was known for his quick wit, his sense of humor and his strength.

Kendall loved his crew at the firehouse and his department. He also owned and operated Firehouse Real Estate. Helping and serving others was his mission in life. He inspired many to always do the right thing, even if it was not fun or easy. He was a man of very strong faith who strived to always live his best life and serve his community. He would say, “Every day is not good, but there is good in every day, and today I’m gonna find a whole lot more good than bad because I’m looking for it”. His wife Jessica said they will live by these words until they meet again in Heaven. He is deeply missed by his family, friends and firefighter brothers and sisters.

Driver/Engineer Daniel Kendall is survived by his loving wife, Jessica, his son, Asher, his father, Dennis, and stepmother, Shirley, his brother, Bryan, and many other cherished family members and friends.
