Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina • Line of Duty Death: September 9, 2023

Forsyth County, North Carolina Deputy Sheriff II Auston Reudelhuber passed away on September 9, 2023 after being in a vehicle collision.

Reudelhuber was born in Thomasville, North Carolina and raised on a farm in Lexington, North Carolina. Reudelhuber loved to spend time with his family, as they were very tight-knit. Later in life, he met his wife, Rachel, through mutual friends. The two of them shared an instant connection.

Reudelhuber was inspired by his grandfather to enlist in the US Army in 2011 before switching his career to law enforcement in 2018. He loved having the opportunity to serve and protect his country and community. Reudelhuber’s career was nothing short of rewarding and fulfilling, having earned several service awards throughout. While driving to work one day, a box truck hit Reudelhuber head on, which led to his premature passing.

Rachel currently resides in North Carolina with her daughters, Addie and Raelyn, and works for a local emergency communications center. Receiving the donation of a mortgage-free home from the Tunnel to Towers Foundation relieves a lot of stress from Rachel, as she has been forced to live on her income alone while raising her children. Finally, she would like others to know that her husband had a servant’s heart, he always made sure those around him were okay and strived to fix anything and everything that he could. He is sorely missed.

Forsyth County, North Carolina Deputy Sheriff II Auston Reudelhuber is survived by his loving wife, Rachel, his beautiful children, Addie and Raelyn, his parents, Lesia and George, and his brother, Spencer.
