Frederick Police Department, Maryland • Line of Duty Death: August 22, 2021

On August 22nd, 2021 Lieutenant Andrew Stewart Alcorn passed away unexpectedly in his home as a result of job related heart disease.

Alcorn was born in Ogden, Utah and was raised in Maryland. He graduated from Urbana High School in 2000 where he was also an exceptional football player who excelled in wrestling and lacrosse as well. Alcorn attended Towson University for college where he continued his athletic career as the guard for Towson Football.

Upon graduation Alcorn joined the Frederick Police Department where he would work the next 14 years. During his career he served as a detective, supervisor, and most recently a lieutenant. Alcorn loved his job and was awarded numerous accolades for his dedication and service to his community. These awards include but are not limited to, the Bronze Star, three Life Saving Awards, Frederick Police Department Officer of the Year in 2011, Officer of the Month in January of 2012, and a certificate of Special Congressional Recognition.

Outside of his career Alcorn was also a master woodworker and builder. He even re-built his family’s home after a devastating house fire which occurred in 2018.

Lieutenant Andrew Stewart Alcorn is survived by his wife, Jenn, and their three children, Drew, Mackenzie, and Addison.
