REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY
The goal of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s Fallen First Responder Home Program is to support the young families of first responder heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting our nation’s communities.
Applicants for the Fallen First Responder Home Program must meet the following fundamental eligibility requirements:
- Scenario 1: The first responder was killed in the line of duty or during authorized training, leaving behind at least one surviving biological or legally adopted child, 16 years of age or younger at the time of passing.
- Scenario 2: The first responders death was caused by department verified, service connected 9/11 toxic exposure, leaving behind at least one surviving biological or legally adopted child, 21 years of age or younger at the time of passing.
- At the time of death, the service member and the surviving parent (spouse) must not have been divorced.
- The surviving parent of the first responder’s child (children) is not currently remarried, engaged, or cohabitating.
Priority is given to applicants whose nuclear family with the fallen first responder has remained unchanged since the time of death.
