Alex Edwards enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps after he graduated high school.
He deployed to Afghanistan in September 2013.
Just a month into his deployment he was injured when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device.
He was awarded the Purple Heart for his injuries, which included spine and nerve damage and permanent hearing loss.
The Tunnel to Towers Foundation teamed up with A Soldier’s Journey Home to build LCpl Edwards a home.
